Rear Admiral, USN Retired
Dave Duryea is a native of Orchard Park, N.Y. and a graduate of University of Rochester and George Washington University. He spent 31 years in the United States Navy retiring as a Rear Admiral in November 2014. During his time in the Navy he was assigned to the submarines USS LAPON (SSN 661), USS PUFFER (SSN 652), USS HONOLULU (SSN 718) and commanded the USS FLORIDA (SSBN/SSGN 728). Shore duty assignments included Plans and Policies Staff action officer for Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment systems at United States Strategic Command and Force Engineer, Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet. Following command of the FLORIDA he transitioned to the acquisition community and served as a Major Program Manager, the Naval Sea Systems Command Deputy Commander for Undersea Warfare and commanded the Naval Undersea Warfare Center.
