Barbara L. Ciaramitaro, PhD, has been a faculty member for over 15 years now teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses on a variety of topics including information security, risk management, advanced networking, project management, business intelligence, database design and administration, secure software development, social engineering, and cryptography.
Prior to her career in academia, Dr. Ciaramittaro had 25 years of experience in business including 10 years as an executive with General Motors where she participated as co-inventor on four patents related to a proprietary software development effort.
Dr. Ciaramitaro holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems with a post-doctoral certificate in Information Security and an M.S. in Software Engineering Administration.
Dr. Ciaramitaro has also earned several professional certifications including the CISSP, CSSLP and PMP.
Areas of interest include: information security, social engineering, mobile technologies, virtual worlds, project management, social media, secure software development, and privacy.
