In March 2015 and as part of the NCI’s IWICS, Dr. Jane LeClair hosted Mrs. Nancy Williams who is the Chief Information Officer at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands.
Nancy has a passion for innovation, education, and collaboration. She also has a commitment to customer service excellence and getting results. Nancy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Louisiana State University and pursued a Master of Science degree at Cornell University. She has diverse experiences from sales to agronomy and IT training to project management.
For the past 13 years, Nancy has led the information technology services team for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands. Initially as the IT Director and most recently as the Chief Information Officer, where she has championed award winning programs, increased technology integration and improved organizational outcomes. Nancy seeks to empower staff and youth through coaching, training and solutions development in a project management environment. With a team of dedicated professionals, Nancy has led strategic technology growth and slashed IT costs to create an enterprise technology infrastructure and innovative programming; transforming technology services from primarily a cost center to a service center with revenue.
During the interview, Nancy spoke to Dr. LeClair about her background, specifically what brought her into a cyber career. She also discussed her current duties and responsibilities, in addition to seminal characteristics that have contributed to her success as a woman in the cyber field.
