The National Cybersecurity Institute at Excelsior College today announced the appointment of two new Fellows, Mr. Melvin Greer and Mr. Kevin L. Jackson. Greer is managing director of the Greer Institute for Leadership and Innovation, a nonprofit and nonpartisan think tank dedicated to helping new leaders and inspiring future innovators. Jackson is the founder and CEO of GovCloud Network, a consultancy specializing in solutions that meet critical commercial and government operational requirements.
Both appointees come to NCI with extensive information technology experience and as fellows, will offer thought leadership and regular contributions to NCI’s expanding content platform. Both are experienced bloggers with substantial social media followings.

In addition to leading the institute, Mr. Greer, who has more than 29 years of experience in the technology fields, also serves as a senior fellow and chief strategist at Lockheed Martin. In 2012, he was awarded the BEYA (Black Engineer of the Year Award) 2012 Technologist of the Year Award, in recognition of those whose technical contributions and technical products have a high value impact on society.
Mr. Jackson is the author of “GovCloud: Cloud Computing for the Business of Government (2011)” and the creator of the influential “Cloud Musings” blog. In 2009 and 2010, he was recognized as one of the “World’s 30 Most Influential Cloud Bloggers” by Cloud Computing Journal and in 2012 as a “Cyber Security Visionary” by U.S. Black Engineer and Information Technology magazine. In 2013, the Huffington Post listed Jackson among the “Top 100 Cloud Computing Experts on Twitter”, and in both 2012 and 2013 FedTech Magazine named “Cloud Musings” as a “Must Read Federal IT Blog.”(Mr. Jackson to the right)
